  1. Port Overview

  1. Bingen, Germany

  2. Bingen am Rhein is a town in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Bingen is the gateway to the Unesco World Heritage of the Upper-Middle Rhine Valley. The town is blessed by a rich cultural heritage: Hildegard von Bingen, Stefan George, the Bingen surgical instruments from the days of the Romans. Bingen also hosts many cultural events, concerts and open-air theatre.

Sights of interest in Bingen include the Museum on the River – Hildegard von Bingen. It is a fitting place to see 2,000 years of culture and history: from the entrance to the museum you can see the Mäuseturm (Mouse Tower), the Niederwald monument and the ruins of Ehrenfels Castle. It is only a short walk to the Rhein-Nahe-Eck (the junction of the rivers Rhine and Nahe) and to the ship moorings.
