  1. Port Overview

  1. Etretat, France

  2. Étretat is a commune in the Seine-Maritime department in the Haute-Normandie region in northern France. It is a tourist and farming town located on the coast of the Pays de Caux area. It is best known for its cliffs, including 3 natural arches and the pointed "needle". These cliffs and the associated resort beach attracted artists including Eugène Boudin, Gustave Courbet and Claude Monet.

The city is nestled between the famous towering cliffs. The beach is composed of stones that have been smoothed by the waves of the English Channel and the town is set just beyond the beach. Once at the beach, there are trails to hike up to either cliff. There are two large arch formations. One on the southwest side of the beach and one large arch on the northeast side of the beach, both are spectacular.
