  2. Murray Bridge is the fourth most populous city in South Australia after Adelaide, Mount Gambier and Whyalla. It is located 76 kilometres (47 mi) east-southeast of Adelaide and 77 kilometres (48 mi) north of Meningie. The city services a farming area including dairy, pigs, chickens, cereal crops and vegetables (including "stay crisp lettuces").

    Murray Bridge offers many attractions. It is a picturesque site of House Boats and Paddle-steamers with many opportunities for water based activities. Just out of Murray Bridge there is a new open range zoo and breeding ground for arid and grassland animals at the Monarto Zoological Park. Many species of animals can roam this 1000 hectare site. Tourists have the opportunity to take a Safari Bus around the park with a personal guide.

    Travel Links – Murray bridge is accessible by rail from Adelaide and Melbourne. Murray Bridge has a train station at Railway Terrace. It is serviced only by the Overland which runs between Adelaide and Melbourne in either direction 3 days per week.

    Murray Bridge is serviced by a coach to Adelaide operating seven days. It can be picked up from Murray Bridge Railway Station and Murray Bridge Information Centre, the bus terminates at the Adelaide Central Bus Station.
