  1. Port Overview

  1. Canakkale (Kepez), Turkey

  2. Çanakkale is a town and seaport in Turkey, in Çanakkale Province, on the southern (Asian) coast of the Dardanelles (or Hellespont) at their narrowest point. Çanakkale Province, like Istanbul Province, has territory in both Europe and Asia. Ferries cross here to the northern (European) side of the strait.

Çanakkale is the best base from which to visit the site of ancient Troy and the Gallipoli battlefields. There is also an interesting archological museum and the nearby village of Behramkale offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Gulf from its Acropolis. The remains of Assos, surrounding the acropolis are also worth visiting.
