  1. Trier, Germany

  2. Trier is a city in Germany on the banks of the Moselle. It is the oldest city in Germany, founded in or before Roman Times approximately 16 BC. It is well known for its UNESCO heritage listed Roman ruins and medieval buildings.

Attractions in Trier include the Porta Nigra gate, the Roman baths, a Roman amphitheater, the Geburtshaus von Karl Marx where Karl Marx was born and the Judengasse, a former Jewish Street that now houses different bars. The Trier Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church which dates back to Roman times and is home to the Holy Tunic, a garment with a recorded history back to the 12th century. In Catholic tradition the Holy Tunic is said to be the robe Jesus was wearing when he died. It is only exhibited every few decades, at irregular intervals
