  2. Ngulu Atoll is an island in the Caroline Islands of the western Pacific Ocean. It is located in the Federated States of Micronesia, approximately 200 miles northeast of Palau. Colonia is the capital of the State of Yap, which also administers both Ngulu, Yap proper and 13 other atolls reaching to the east and south for some 800 km (500 mi), namely Eauripik, Elato, Fais, Faraulep, Gaferut, Ifalik, Lamotrek, Ngulu, Olimarao, Piagailoe (West Fayu), Pikelot, Sorol, Ulithi, and Woleai Atolls.

    Ngulu Atoll is a small isolated island covered in verdant green vegetation and palm trees, and fringed with white coral sand, the wide sea stretching to the horizon in every direction. Although the island itself is tiny, the lagoon in which it lies is a large area, protected by from the deep ocean by an extensive barrier reef surrounding it.

    Port Location – Cruise ships anchor offshore at Ngulu Atoll and are transferred to shore by tender boat.

    Transport Links – Micronesia can be reached by air from Honolulu, Manila and Guam (flights arrive there from the USA, Australia and Asia). A Circle Micronesia air pass starting in Los Angeles or San Francisco, or a Visit Micronesia pass originating in Guam, will let you skip around the islands.
    Chuuk has a local carriers that flies to the outer islands, but boat is the cheapest means of travel between islands.
    Yap International Airport receives service from Continental Micronesia, a subsidiary of Continental Airlines.
