San Juan del Sur is a coastal town on the Pacific Ocean, in south-west Nicaragua. The town is a popular tourist location because of its many nearby and spectacular beaches. San Juan del Sur is popular among beach lovers, surfers and fishing enthusiasts.
This quaint harbor village offers traditional Nicaraguan cuisine in thatch-roofed or “palapa roof” bars and restaurants which line the long, sandy beach. At sunset, both locals and visitors gather at the water’s edge to relax and watch children play soccer on the beach. Popular activities include fishing, horse riding, surfing and the canopy tour. The central market, located in the center of the town, is also a great attraction.
