Mohacs is a town in Baranya county, Hungary on the right bank of the Danube, 115 miles south of Budapest. Some of the interesting sights of the town include the Grand Church; Historic Memorial Place of Mohács and the Kanizsai Dorottya Museum. There are also several valuable baroque ecclesiastical buildings in the town.
The Busó Festivity is a traditional event in Mohács, which originates from the Turkish times. According to legend the locals could hide in the marshes and reeds of Mohács island. The festivity, which evokes the expulsion of the Turks, the farewell-to-winter and the end of the carnival season.
