Located 11 km’s east of Venezuela, Trinidad is the southernmost of the Caribbean Islands. It is very sophisticated and cultural, considered by many to be the most cosmopolitan Caribbean Island.
Port of Spain, the capital, is a bustling commercial center where sophisticated shopping, restaurants and hotels abound. The highlight of the year is the riotous Carnival, a period of festivities that begins after Christmas and culminates in a two-day street parade that ends on Ash Wednesday. Of interest is the Angostura Bitters Factory, St Benedicts Monastery, Maracas Bay and of course city tours of Port of Spain.
