Hanko is Finland’s southernmost city. It is a popular tourist town during summer and boasts a major recreational marina. The city has a coastline comprised of 30km of sandy beaches and there are over 90 small islands and islets within the city limits.
Hanko is best known as the site of the Hangon Regatta yacht race, held yearly in early July. The race draws a large number of spectators and the entire city takes on a festive carnival atmosphere.

Port Location – The port at Hanko is located approximately 2km from the town centre.
Travel Links – There is limited commuter train service from Karjaa, on the main Helsinki-Turku line, or you can opt for a direct bus from either city. All options take roughly two hours.
The daily car ferry to Rostock, Germany is now operated by Scandlines and has services only four times in the week.
