Playas del Coco is located in Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica, along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. This area is also one of the fastest growing tourism areas in all of Costa Rica. The area offers tourists unspoiled white sand beaches, pristine waters and some small and rarely visited wildlife reserves and parks.
Playas del Coco is the largest village in Guanacaste province and is a prime scuba diving spot and gateway for surfers to nearby surf locations. There are plenty of shops, bars, markets and restaurants here, however the main attraction is the beach.
From Playas del Coco you can also head out to Pelonas Islands, Catalinas and Bat Islands, which are excellent sites to spot turtles, sharks and octopus in their natural environment.
