Playa Herradura is a coastal town on the Pacific Ocean in Costa Rica, located about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north of Jacó. Playa Herradura was a quiet beach some ten years ago, however today it a popular tourist destination on the Northern Puntarentas Coast. While Jaco has the reputation as a ‘party beach’, with an excellent nightlife, Herradura is ideal for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of Jaco.
There are a number of hotels and resorts at Herradura or you can head up north to the lovely Refugio Punta Leona, or down south to the wonderful Playa Hermosa.
