Lucaya is a suburb of Freeport, Bahamas a city on the Island of Grand Bahama approximately 105 mi (160 km) east-northeast of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Lucaya is a tourist destination on the island, featuring beaches and hotels.
The UNEXSO (Underwater Explorers Society) is based in Lucaya. It was the first destination dive charter business in the world and now features a dolphinarium as well as a variety of SCUBA diving charters including shark feeding dives. Visitors to the Port Lucaya Marketplace can stroll among the 80 shops, boutiques, restaurants, bars, and dining spots all charging incredible duty-free prices. Across the street there is the beautiful Lucayan Beach, with its crystal clear waters and golden white sands.
