Aalborg is located in northern Jutland, Denmark. It is a very historic city at the heartland of Denmark. With the additional attraction of miles of sandy beaches, the peninsula is the most popular domestic holiday area.
Aalborg offers a wide variety of attractions and activities for visitors. On the arts scene there is theatre, music, opera, galleries, carnival, museums, art and historic quarters. For children there is Waterland, Tivoliland, the Zoo and much more. Aalborg also offers great shopping in small, speciality shops and huge supermarkets. There are more than 300 restaurants and a casino.
A stroll through the pedestrian precincts of Aalborg's old city centre will take you to Jens Bangs Stenhus, one of Europe's largest town houses of the Renaissance period, and to Obels Plads, a square transformed in winter into the city's ice rink. Then there are of course the galleries, shops and the legendary Jomfru Ane Street, Denmark's longest entertainment strip, with restaurants, bars, clubs and live-music cafés.
