Goose Bay is a Canadian town in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Located in the central part of Labrador, the town is the largest population centre in that region. Built on a large sandy plateau in 1941, the town is home to the largest military air base in northeastern North America, CFB Goose Bay.
The area's unique past and culture can be explored at the many museums and historical centers in and around Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Visitors can explore the forests, mountains and lakes of one of Canada's last remaining untapped storehouses of natural wealth and beauty by hiking, biking or skiing on one of the many trails in the area.
