Biswanath Ghat, also called popularly as "Gupta Kashi"is on the Bramaputra River, south of Biswanath Chariali in the Sonitpur district in the state of Assam, India.
It was once home to a significant Siva temple of 330 million gods with The Ghat having a cluster of temples of different gods. Now what is left is just the stone posts, beams and other ruins. During the summer the temple remains under water.Only in winter, worship is done by constructing a temporary shed which draws lot of tourists.
For people visiting other archaeological sites of Biswanath and Gohpur area, Biswanath Chariali town provides the base as it is easily accessible by road 75 km away from Tezpur town, which has the nearest airport.
