Grassy Bay, Bermuda
Grassy Bay is located on the Bermudas or Somers Isles, a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean, located off the east coast of the United States.
Grassy Bay has shallow and remarkably, clear azure-blue waters. A tropical wonderland offering snorkeling, scuba diving and glass bottomed boat excursions. It is just to the east of King’s Wharf and is close to the museums and shops located near the historic Royal Naval Dockyard. It has lots of traditional island fare and handcrafts to see, experience and savour.
Bermuda is the northernmost point of the so-called Bermuda Triangle, a region of sea in which, according to legend, a number of aircraft and surface vessels have disappeared under supposedly unexplained or mysterious circumstances.
Cruises here are generally 3, 4 or 5 day escapes from the east coast cities of the US and travel all year round. The region is serviced by many of the major cruise lines some of whom now dedicate a ship to combine The Bermuda and The Bahamas market. Often ships anchor offshore and tender passengers to land.
Because of its more Northern location, Bermuda is not tropical but rather has a sub-tropical climate. The island is in the hurricane belt and can be prone to severe weather. From November through to February is a pleasant 70F/21c while the hot season from May to September temperatures rise to around 80F/26c. Summer is also a bit drier.
