Bayonne is a city in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States, south of Jersey City. It is situated on the Bergen Neck peninsula surrounded by New York Bay to the east, Newark Bay to the west, and the Kill van Kull to the south.
Bayonne is probably best known for Bayonne Bridge, which is one of the longest steel arch bridges in the world. It's not only impressive in size, but also in looks. When it opened in 1931, the American Institute for Steel Construction named the bridge the 'Most Beautiful Steel Arch'.
Harbor View Park is also worth a visit. It is a public park located at the northeast corner of the Peninsula. Its centerpiece is the 100-foot tall monument “To the Struggle Against World Terrorism” designed and donated by world-renowned artist, Zurab Tsereteli. The base of the monument is engraved with the names of the victims who perished in the September 11 2001 attacks as well as the 1993 World Trade Center attack. Harbor View Park offers a panoramic view of New York Harbor, including the World Trade Center site.
