Mytilene is the capital of the island of (Lesvos) Lesbos, a Greek island located in the northeastern Aegean Sea.It is located in the southeastern part of the island occupying seven hills, while its fortress, one of the largest in the Mediterranean, lies on a pine-covered hillock to the east of the town.
